The refreshingly intimate One Steuart Lane was meticulously designed to strike an effortless balance between a deeply modern sensibility and a timeless San Francisco presence.
One of the largest and most influential architecture firms in the world, Skidmore, Owings & Merrill—known as SOM—created a building that celebrates a series of inspired connections: to history, to the city of San Francisco, to the incredible waterfront, and to design that transcends the sense of time.
Unique to any residential building in the last century in San Francisco, the exterior of One Steuart Lane is luminous in solid Roman travertine, sourced from quarries in Northern and Central Italy that have been used for millennia. Beautiful and enduring, it is the same stone used to build the great works of early Rome.
